Catch up

Wow, it’s been a long time. I finally have a break! Today marked the official last day of classes for Spring 2006, so I’m all done except for finals. This semester flew by, rather painfully, though.

How about getting caught up here?

I can’t believe I didn’t mention spring break in my last post. No, I didn’t go to Cancun and do something crazy, but it ended up being a really good break. 30 Seconds to Mars (my favorite band since they came out in 2002) played in San Antonio, so I went. They are absolutely amazing live. The atmosphere wasn’t great, I couldn’t stand the other bands, but they were wonderful. I’ve been to concerts where you can tell the band doesn’t care about the fans, but they certainly do. Just amazing…

It’s a little weird to see them get airtime on the radio, too. As I said, they have been my favorite band for over 4 years, and no one I knew had ever heard of them before. Now, all of the sudden, they are on billboard. I hear them on the radio and almost every time, I look at my cd player not realizing that the CD isn’t in it. I know it’s not some amazing thing, but its cool.

Steph and I also went to Sea World. I had never been the before, but it was a lot of fun. I’m not a big show person, but they put on some very entertaining ones with neat stunts and nice choreography.

I also have an internship! I’ll be in Houston working with Space Station software. I got an apartment in the Clear Lake area (which actually touches the neighborhood I lived in when I was younger), and will move in around the 15th of this month. I’m really looking forward to it.

Yesterday, I met with my boss, and found out there is going to be an autonomous robotics program there next semester. Right now I am torn between doing that, and working with a professor in the Computer Science department on research involving the DARPA Grand Challenges. I don’t have enough information to decide yet.

Speaking of work, our research is done. If I post the results, it will have to be in another post.

I guess that’s all I can say. I doubt anyone reads this, but if you find any of it interesting, just let me know. Maybe I can update more.
